The following Bylaw is being proposed to mirror Local 494's language in Milwaukee. A new classification of worker is being introduced as those working in Hospitality (i.e. Coffee). We are following the guidelines set for us by the International. 


This will not affect your dues. This is for new coffee workers only.

ARTICLE X

Assessments - Admission Fees - Dues

Sec. 1. All assessments imposed in accordance with the IBEW Constitution and these bylaws must be paid within the time required to protect the member's continuous good standing and benefits. Members shall not be required to pay assessments for welfare benefits in which they cannot participate.

Sec. 2. No money shall be collected from anyone working within the jurisdiction of this Local Union other than to apply on admission fees, dues and assessments established in accordance with the IBEW Constitution and these bylaws.

Sec. 3. The admission fees shall be as follows:

               
(a) "A" and "BA" Membership in the Hospitality classification $35.00

            (a)(b)"A" and "BA" Membership All other classifications $200.00

            (b)(c) Each applicant for "A" member shall pay an additional $2.00.

            (c)(d) Approval of these admission fees is given by the International President with the understanding that if conditions in the jurisdiction of the Local Union do not justify such fees, then the International President will be free to change the amounts.

Sec. 4. All applications must be accompanied by ten percent (10%) or more of the admission fee. Full payment (satisfactory arrangements may be made with the Executive Board) and admission must be completed within ninety (90) days of making application, in accordance with Article XXI of the IBEW Constitution.

Sec. 5. The monthly dues shall be:

                            (a)    “A” and “BA” Members in Hospitality

                                      Basic Dues of $15.00


 
                       (a) (b)"A" and "BA" Members

                                 Basic Dues of $20.00, plus 1.5% of all gross pay.

                       (b)(c) Applicable International per capita and all assessments to be paid in addition to the above dues.

                        (c)(d) Unemployed members and members working outside the jurisdiction of Local 1220 (except as provided in paragraphs (e)(f), (i) and (f)(g) below) shall pay unemployed dues of $2.50 per month plus the International payments provided for in (b)(c) above.

                        (d) (e) Except as provided in (a) above and paragraphs (e)(f) and (f) (g) below, all members of the IBEW shall pay working dues of 1.5% of gross earnings or $4.00, whichever is greater, when working in the jurisdiction of Local 1220. IBEW members in the Hospitality classification shall pay working dues of $10.00 when working in the jurisdiction of Local 1220.

                         (e) (f) Freelance technicians:

                                  (i) All members of IBEW Local 1220 shall pay working dues of 1.5% of gross earnings or $4.00, whichever is greater, when working as freelance technicians under the IBEW’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with either Fox Sports Production Co., or CBS Broadcasting, Inc., without regard to geographic location.

                                   (ii) Members of other IBEW Local Unions listed in the IBEW’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with either Fox Sports Production Co. or CBS Broadcasting, Inc. shall pay working dues to their home locals, and not to Local 1220, when working as freelance technicians in Local 1220’s jurisdiction under either of those collective bargaining agreements.

                          (f)(g) Utilities: All IBEW members crewed by Local 1220 to work as utilities under the CBS or Fox Sports Agreements, and all Local 1220 members crewed by CBS or Fox Sports to work as utilities under their respective collective bargaining agreements shall pay working dues to Local 1220 of 1.5% of gross earnings or $4.00, whichever is greater.

                          (g)(h) Basic dues plus the International payments provided for in (b) (c) above, and unemployed dues provided for in (c) (d) above, are payable monthly in advance. Working dues of 1.5% of all gross pay are payable monthly
